Murtfeldt continues to support the "School motions" dance theatre project in 2011
Following the extremely successful launch of the urban "School motions" project in the academic year of 2009/2010, Murtfeldt Kunststoffe is looking forward to the continuation of the dance project initiated and organized by the Dortmund Ballet. "We didn't have to think things over for long when the Ballet asked us whether Murtfeldt would like to continue supporting "School motions" in 2011" says Murtfeldt's Managing Director, Detlev Höhner. "No matter whom we spoke to following the pupils' performance at the Dortmund Opera House, they all said the same: Without exception, they were reallyenthusiastic."

There is another aspect motivating the long-standing Dortmund-based company to support and promote the second year of this initiative in its role as sponsor: The integrative spirit of the event and its ability to help people to overcome their prejudices and stereotypical thought. "Pupils who get involved in the "School motions" project experience a major challenge: Most of them will probably never have had anything to do with ballet beforehand; they've most likely never set foot on a stage! And now they have to get active - alongside people from other cliques and cultures who may have a different native language from them. In my opinion, this is excellent preparation for their future lives in the workplace" says Detlev Höhner, explaining why he thinks the project has such a great effect.

Anyone who saw the performance in summer 2010 would be able to report on the international nature of the presence at the Opera House - amongst both the performers and the audience. The Opera House hummed like a beehive as people chatted away in many different languages. Pupils from participating schools who were not on the stage used the other available spaces in the large building to present their interpretations of the project. Hundreds of parents, siblings, and teachers also attended, and were all too happy to get involved in the action.

"School motions 2010/2011" started in February 2011: Xin Peng Wang will present the results of the project work on the large stage of the Opera House on the 18th of June 2011. And then, many young people will see their dream come true: A chance to tread the boards themselves. However, before they reach this stage, they will work through four intensive months of preparation with dance teachers from the Dortmund Ballet, who will prepare scenes from Wang's ballet "The Last Future" with the pupils. In addition, the topic will be discussed and studied at school in sport/dance lessons, music, art, German, and philosophy/ethics.
